Accessing <strong>the</strong> CLIIf you type help or ? before or after a full command, <strong>the</strong> CLI displays <strong>the</strong> command’s syntaxand parameters, and an example <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> command. You must be in <strong>the</strong> command’s context inorder to use <strong>the</strong> help command to display information about <strong>the</strong> command. In <strong>the</strong> followingexample, <strong>the</strong> user enters <strong>the</strong> context <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Vlan 1 interface and displays help for <strong>the</strong>bandwidth command.<strong>G350</strong>-001(super)# interface vlan 1<strong>G350</strong>-001(super-if:Vlan 1)# bandwidth ?Bandwidth commands:----------------------------------------------------------------------Syntax: bandwidth : integer (1-10000000)Example: bandwidth 1000Accessing <strong>the</strong> CLI locallyThere are two ways you can access <strong>the</strong> CLI locally:●●Accessing CLI via local networkAccessing CLI with a console deviceAccessing CLI via local networkYou can access <strong>the</strong> CLI from a computer on <strong>the</strong> same local network as <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong> <strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong><strong>Gateway</strong> by using any standard telnet program. For <strong>the</strong> host address, you can use <strong>the</strong> IPaddress <strong>of</strong> any <strong>G350</strong> interface.Accessing CLI with a console deviceTo access <strong>the</strong> CLI with a console device, use one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following types <strong>of</strong> console devices:●Serial terminal● Laptop with serial cable and terminal emulator s<strong>of</strong>twareConnect <strong>the</strong> console device to <strong>the</strong> console port (CONSOLE) on <strong>the</strong> front panel <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Avaya</strong><strong>G350</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Gateway</strong>. Use only an approved <strong>Avaya</strong> serial cable.
