Configuring policyAccess control listsYou can use access control lists to control which packets are authorized to pass through aninterface. When a packet matches a rule on the access control list, the rule specifies whetherthe G350:●●Accepts the packet or drops the packetSends an ICMP error reply if it drops the packet● Sends an SNMP trap if it drops the packetAccess lists have the following parts:● Global rules — a set of rules that are executed before the list is evaluated●●Rule list — a list of filtering rules and actions for the G350 to take when a packet matchesthe rule. Match actions on this list are pointers to the composite operation table.Actions (composite operation table) — a table that describes actions to be performedwhen a packet matches a rule. The table includes pre-defined actions such as permit anddeny. You can configure more complex rules. See Composite operations on page 266.QoS listsYou can use QoS lists to change the DSCP and Ethernet IEEE 802.1p CoS fields in packets. When a packet matches a rule on the QoS list, the G350 sets one or both of the QoS fields inthe packet. The following table shows these QoS fields:Each QoS list also includes a DSCP table. The DSCP table enables you to set one or both ofthe QoS fields in a packet based on the previous value of the DSCP field in the packet.QoS lists have the following parts:● Rule list — a list of filtering rules and actions for the G350 to take when a packet matchesthe rule.
