Configuring advanced switchingMulti VLAN bindingMulti VLAN binding, also known as Multiple VLANs per port, allows access to shared resourcesby stations that belong to different VLANs through the same port. This is useful in applicationssuch as multi-tenant networks, where each user has his or her own VLAN for privacy. Thewhole building has a shared high-speed connection to the ISP.In order to accomplish this, the G350 enables multiple VLANs per port. The available PortMulti-VLAN binding modes are:●Bound to Configured - the port supports all the VLANs configured in the switch● Statically Bound - the port supports VLANs manually configured on itThe following figure shows these binding modes.Figure 11: Multi VLAN BindingBind to Configured●●●The VLAN table of the port will support all the StaticVLAN entries and all the ports’ VLAN IDs (PVIDs)present in the switchVLANs 1,3,5,9,10 coming from the bus are allowedaccess through this portAll the ports in Bound to Configured mode supportthe same list of VLANsStatic Binding●●●The user manuallyspecifies the list ofVLAN IDs to bebound to the port, upto eight VLANsDefault mode for allportsOnly VLAN 9, andany other VLANsstatically configuredon the port will beallowed to access thisportG350 VLAN tableThe G350 VLAN table lists all VLANs configured on the G350. You can configure up to eightVLANs. To display a list of VLANs, use the show vlan command. When the VLAN table reaches its maximum capacity, you can not configure any more VLANs. Ifthis occurs, use the clear vlan command, followed by the name or number of the VLAN youwant to delete, to free space in the VLAN table. Any new VLANs configured by you are madeknown to all the modules in the system.134 Administration of the Avaya G350 Media Gateway

Configuring VLANsIngress VLAN securityIngress VLAN Security enables easy implementation of security, and is always active. A portthat is assigned to a VLAN allows packets tagged for that VLAN only to enter the through thatport. Unassigned packets receive the PVID of the port and are therefore allowed to enter.ICC-VLANWhen the G350 includes an ICC, the ICC connects to the G350 via an internal switch. Bydefault, the ICC is connected on Vlan 1. The VLAN to which the ICC connects is called theICC-VLAN.You can use the icc-vlan command to attach the ICC to a different VLAN. Enter the contextof the VLAN interface to which you want to attach the ICC switch, and type the icc-vlancommand.To show the current ICC-VLAN, type the show icc-vlan command from the general context. The following example sets Vlan 2 as the ICC-VLAN:G350-001(super)# interface vlan 2G350-001(super-if:Vlan 2)# icc-vlanDone!G350-001(super-if:Vlan 2)# exitG350-001(super)# show icc-vlanVLAN 2G350-001(super)#VLAN CLI commandsThe following commands are used to configure VLANs. For more information about thesecommands, see Avaya G350 Media Gateway CLI Reference, 555-245-202.●●●●Use the clear port static-vlan command to delete VLANs statically configured ona port.Use the clear vlan command to delete an existing VLAN and its interface, remove theentry from the VLAN table, and return ports from this VLAN to the default VLAN #1. Whenyou clear a VLAN, all ports assigned to that VLAN are assigned to the default VLAN #1.Use the interface vlan command to create a VLAN interface, enter it into the VLANtable, and enter the Interface VLAN configuration mode.Use the no interface vlan command to delete a VLAN interface and remove theentry from the VLAN table.Issue 3 January 2005 135
