Configuring SNMPConfiguring dynamic trap managerDynamic trap manager is a special feature that ensures that the G350 sends traps directly tothe currently active MGC. If the MGC fails, dynamic trap manager ensures that traps are sent tothe backup MGC.Note:Note: The dynamic trap manager is created by default and can not be removed.Use the snmp server dynamic-trap-manager command to specify the parameters of thedynamic trap manager feature. You can configure the following parameters:●type — Determines whether to send traps or informs to the recipient. The default is traps.● version — Determines the SNMP security model (v1, v2c). If the security model is v1,you must add the v1 community string to use in notifications.●●udp port — Optional. A keyword and variable that specify which UDP port of the targethost to use.notification type — The type of traps to be sent. To send all types of traps, set thisparameter to all. For a list of possible notification types, see Configuring SNMP traps onpage 125.Note:Note: There is no default value for the notification type parameter. Thus, youmust enter a value in order for the dynamic trap manager to send traps. The following example configures dynamic trap manager to send all traps:G350-001(super)# snmp-server dynamic-trap-manager traps v1 publicudp-port 162 allSNMP configuration examplesThis section provides SNMP configuration examples:The following example enables link up/down traps on an Ethernet interface:G350-001(super)# interface FastEthernet 10/2G350-001(super-if:FastEthernet 10/2)# snmp trap link-statusDone!The following example adds an SNMPv1 trap receiver:G350-001(super)# set snmp trap 192.36.44.18SNMP trap receiver added.128 Administration of the Avaya G350 Media Gateway
