Configuring SNMP trapsConfiguring SNMP trapsWhen SNMP traps are enabled on <strong>the</strong> device, SNMP traps are sent to all IP addresses listed in<strong>the</strong> trap receivers table. You can add and remove addresses from <strong>the</strong> trap receivers table. Inaddition, you can limit <strong>the</strong> traps sent to specified receivers. You can also enable and disable linkup/down traps on specified <strong>G350</strong> interfaces. Use <strong>the</strong> following commands to configure <strong>the</strong> trapreceivers table:Note:●●●●●●●Note:You need an Admin privilege level to use <strong>the</strong> SNMP commands.Use <strong>the</strong> snmp-server enable notifications command to enable SNMP traps andnotifications. Use <strong>the</strong> no form <strong>of</strong> this command to disable SNMP traps and notifications.Use <strong>the</strong> set port trap command to enable and disable link-up and link-downnotifications and traps.Use <strong>the</strong> set snmp trap enable/disable auth command to enable and disableau<strong>the</strong>ntication failure traps for all managers.Use <strong>the</strong> set snmp trap enable frame-relay command to enable frame relay trapsfor all managers.Use <strong>the</strong> show snmp command to display SNMP information.Use <strong>the</strong> snmp-server informs command to configure <strong>the</strong> SNMPv3 timeout and retriesfor notifications.Use <strong>the</strong> snmp-server host command to define an SNMPv3 notification host. Use <strong>the</strong>no form <strong>of</strong> this command to remove an SNMPv3 notification host and to removenotification filter groups from a specific host. You can define <strong>the</strong> following parameters withthis command:- type — Determines whe<strong>the</strong>r to send traps or informs to <strong>the</strong> recipient. The default istraps.- version — Determines <strong>the</strong> SNMP security model (v1, v2c, v3). If <strong>the</strong> security model isv1, you must add <strong>the</strong> v1 community string to use in notifications. If you select v3, youmust also specify <strong>the</strong> au<strong>the</strong>ntication method. Options are:●●auth — au<strong>the</strong>ntication without encryptionnoauth — no au<strong>the</strong>ntication● priv — au<strong>the</strong>ntication with encryption- community string — The v1 community string to use in notifications- user name — The v3 user name to use in notifications- udp port — Optional. A keyword and variable that specify which UDP port <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> targethost to use as <strong>the</strong> destination UDP port when sending a notification to this manager.
