In additionto traditional class and regional programs, the focus is onexpanded engagement initiatives directed to students/young alumni and affinity groups. Full implementation ofthese plans will take three to five years to complete.The division continued to strengthen and enhance itsvolunteer programs in support of its alumni engagementand fundraising programs, guided by the recommendationsIt also used the expanded fundraising and AlumniAffairs presence in New York City, serving the NortheastCorridor, and its expanded presence on the West Coastto provide targeted programming and engagementopportunities, focused attention, and increased face-to-facecontact in the areas where the largest concentration ofalumni, parents, and friends, including tracked prospects,live and work.In response to our society’s rapidly changingcommunications and networking environments,Alumni Affairs and Development is leveragingincreased opportunities for the strategic use of digitalcommunications and social media. Employing theseapproaches and tools is a key strategy for increasingalumni, parent, and friend engagement, especially withyounger alumni, and to broaden the donor base andincrease donor participation.Facilities ServicesEnergy & SustainabilityEnergy & Sustainability continued to safely supplyreliable and efficient energy and water to the campus inFY12 while transitioning to more sustainable systemsthrough energy conservation and moving beyond coal. Thedepartment managed sustainability campus programs toengage faculty, staff, and students in a living laboratory.Facilities ManagementFacilities Management enjoyed many successes andaccomplishments while facing continued financial andorganizational challenges.
