Having a standard length and not very deep, theycan be placed on top of another instrument.• A display with see-it-to-believe-it dimensions and legibility;oscilloscope-analyzers: LCD colour, pivoting screen.• Technological alterations associating new, yet necessaryfeatures.• Digital calibration at 100% for controlled accuracy.• Completely programmable models per SCPI protocol.• Assets that even appeal to the world of industry andtechnical education.MTX 3240Generator-measurerwith built-in frequency meterMTX 3252(Shut)MTX 325050,000-count bench-topmultimeter:accuracy and control4

LaboratoryinstrumentationMTX 3240:the stand-alone generator-measurerMTX 3240 with built-in frequency meterA generator with innovative featuresIts advanced technology allows each user to benefit fromits new, yet essential functions:• Frequency settings - guarantees stability to the nearestdigit, and intelligent accelerator - with automatic rangechange for frequencyAssociated featuresAnother advantage of these innovations: full functionalityfor the user's investment. The MTX 3240's associated features give it stand-aloneimplementation which means that, when simply testingsettings, one can avoid the systematic use of an oscilloscopeor multimeter.• Frequency control loop and display• AMPLITUDE vpp (peak/peak) and OFFSET V DC check anddisplay• Duty cycle check and display• Automatic range changing optimized for“LEVEL and OFFSET” amplitude• Duty cycle adjustable without varying or dividing thefrequency• “LOGIC” function for a fast and simple answer to generatinglogic signals with directlyadjustable thresholds• A robust generator withprotected 60 V DC / 40 V ACoutputsThe MTX 3240 is also a rational investment for it is also a100 MHz frequency meter (Cat. I, 300 V), which means thatit is not necessary to purchase an instrument that onedoesn't use that often. And in order to meet the user's expectations of automatedsystems in an economical way, a 100% programmable versionof this generator exists via a rapid, SCPI-compatible link.5

LaboratoryinstrumentationMTX 3250:the built-inmultimeter-analyzerA multimeter at the leading edgeof modesIt all begins with a connection reduced to 3 terminalswhich limits maneuvers and errors and allows completecurrent “AUTORANGING” between 50 µA and 20 A.Then with its 3-way display, the MTX 3250 gives measurementcombinations that meet current applications simplyand efficiently, as for example, bandwidth measurement(attenuation in dB and frequency display).• For metrology control, the “SPEC” Mode calculates anddisplays the instrument's uncertainties according to theranges and the measured valueAssociated featuresLike the generator of the same family, the MTX multimeteris an exceptional, multifunctional device. Thanks to itssignal analysis, there is no need for the user to use otherinstruments (an oscilloscope for example) when verifyingmade measurements.Impossible to make errors, which are so frequent and yetoften ignored, due to very high crest factor. In fact, the MTX3250 measures rapid peaks at 500 µs non-stop and lets youknow when it finds a fault.Better still, when “AUTO PEAK” Mode is validated, the multimeterautomatically switches to the range best suited to thetype of signal measured. Since crest factor is displayed, onecan also make an initial quantitative diagnosis on signals.• Mode gives a direct reading of the measuredquantity, as well as the corresponding physical unit• “Surveillance” Mode records the minima andmaxima so to catch and date faults• “RELATIVE” Mode, expressed in absolute, percentage ordB (ratio), makes direct operationsSituated on the front, the measurement connections are easily accessibleThe MTX 3250 is a rational investment for it is also a frequencymeter, a thermometer and even a logger, which means thatit is not necessary to purchase instruments that one doesn'tuse that often. Also for recording up to 4 channels and12 parameters in the laboratory, the “data logger” versionof this multi-purpose instrument offer high-performanceservice with its associated PC software.Temperature is measured directly starting from Pt 100 orPt 1000, and in the same way that frequency is measured,up to 1 MHz, with period and duty cycle. And in order to better meet the users' expectations of automatedsystems, a 100% programmable version of thisinstrument exists via a SCPI-compatible, RS 232 optical linkat 57,600 bauds.6

LaboratoryinstrumentationMTX 3252 and MTX 3352:60 and 100 MHzoscilloscope-analyzersExpert oscilloscopesfor personalised communicationsOnce the screen of the oscilloscope is up, communicationsare operative between the unit and the user who choosesboth its mode and its control style.Advanced Mode• Mode :The complex functionsmay be “hidden”. Easilyaccessed using “AdvancedMode”, they do not disruptnavigation, or analysis, instandard mode.• Control style:1 - In “keyboard” use, you achieve record efficiency sincetwenty keys and the encoder enable direct access andadjustments on a very simplified front panel.Furthermore, on-line help is available, at all times, foreach function, and in five languages using the key .“Magnetised” to the curve, the encoder or the mousemoves them in one horizontal movement.• Genuine lists of the availablefunctions, the menus are alsoused as learning tools and the“Pop-Up” windows present all ofthe adjustments at a glance.Compact but offering with very largeoperation zones. Orientable screenA very simplified front panelwith direct accessesEfficient on-line help available, at all timesAll of the adjustments displayedat a glance• The MTX 3352 and 3252 oscilloscopes are fitted standardwith an RS 232 link and the Centronics interface, essentialto communicate with a printer or a PC.2 - The mouse is used to pull down the menus and navigatewith ease in a “windows-like” users-friendly environment. The use of the MTX 3252 and MTX 3352 is then particularlyaccessible.• The mouse is also usedfor direct and effectiveaction on the graphicelements (cursors, trigger, trace position...).Cursors may be placed atany time on the signalsto perform measurementsas precise as they arevaried, such as, forexample, the phase shiftbetween two signals.Direct and effective actionon the graphic elements via the mouse“Windows Like” environment:guaranteed compatibility and distanceabolished!• The files generated use the“Windows” ergonomics and itsuniversal environment and standardformats: .gif, .pcl, .txt, .bmp,.eps, .prn etc. It is possible to savethem in the files system of theinstrument, to print them orexport them directly to a PC foranalysis using “Windows” applications(reports, spreadsheet, printable files, images...).Standard file formats which fitall kind of applications7

Laboratoryinstrumentation• A state-of-the-art device, the Ethernet network interfacewith HTML server can be used for further enhancements(option): using only the Ethernet address of the unit, with noadditional software, the user can take charge of the oscilloscope(s)installed in the network. This can solve certainremote management problems in industrial environments, but also in teaching. Displaying these signals, controllingthe instrument, sending messages to the different users, downloading curves, results or configurations. All operationsand manipulations are accessible remotely, still with 100%“Windows” compatibility.Light, compact and fitted witha handle, the instruments canalso accompany professionalswho need to move aroundas part of their jobs. A “fieldpack” can even be used formeasurements and handlingof the oscilloscope withoutremoving it.Performance in everyone's grasp• The exceptional vertical dynamic of 2.5 mV to 100 V perdivision is related to scaling on channels with readout ofthe physical unit of the signal and to a performant“Autoset” selectable per channel.• The mathematics editorIs used to display inreal time on screen theresult of 4 customisedfunction using acquiredsignals or in completesimulation.Trail 3 = graphic representation of matematics function betweenchannel 1 and channel 2• Thanks to its 50,000-count memory, reference in thiscategory, its horizontal trace zoom, and unique vertical“winzoom”, it can enlarge by a factor of 200, whiledisplaying only the true points of acquisition. You canthen take full advantage of its maximum sampling speedof 20 Gsam/s and its time base performance (1 ns at 200s per division).Remember that a memorydepth 20 times largerthan other oscilloscopesmeans a recording time 20times longer or a samplingfrequency 20 timesgreater!Winzoom: simple and efficient• The window of automatic measurements displays simultaneouslythe 18 parameters of the signal. For preciseand unambiguous analysis,2 markers display the portionof the signal on which thefirst automatic measurementselected was performed;you can then select anotherzone by framing it using themanual cursors.18 automatic parameters of thesignal displayed at once• The fast comparison of two signals could not be simpler:after pressing the key you compare directly the 2traces and by checking “reference difference” you measurethe differences of all the 18 parameters of the new signal.A “global” toolOriginally a tool for displaying signals, the oscilloscope hasbecome a true analytical tool.• Thus, the MTX 3352 and 3252 are capable of real timeFFT and multichannel analysis of the signal.• For users working morein the electrical engineeringfield, the analysisof 31-rank multichannelharmonics is proposedas an option. The multichannel harmonicsanalysis is available as option• Finally, for all those who monitor the variations of physicalor mechanical phenomena over time, a genuine fast digitallogger can be integrated into the instrument, in the formof a software module.Order reference:MTX3252-M: Oscillo. 2 x 60 MHz, B & WMTX3252-C: Oscillo. 2 x 60 MHz, ColorMTX3352-M: Oscillo. 2 x 100 MHz, B & WMTX3352-C: Oscillo. 2 x 100 MHz, ColorAccessories included: 1 set of probes, 1 mouse pad, 1 mouse, 1 European mains lead, 1 CD-ROM withpresentation and user's manual.MTX3252E-M: Oscillo. 2 x 60MHz, B & W, with Ethernet portMTX3252E-C: Oscillo. 2 x 60 MHz, Color, with Ethernet portMTX3352E-M: Oscillo 2 x 100 MHz, B & W, with Ethernet portMTX3352E-C: Oscillo. 2 x 100 MHz, Color, with Ethernet portAccessories included: 1 set of probes, 1 mouse pad, 1 mouse, 1 European mains lead, 1 straightRJ45-RJ45 - Ethernet hook-up lead, 1 crossed RJ45-RJ45 - PC link - oscilloscope lead, 1 CD-ROMwith user's manual and programming manual.MTX3252-MK: MTX3252-M + SX-METROK/B softwareMTX3252-CK: MTX3252-C + SX-METROK/B softwareOptional accessories:Optional: HX0028 Harmonics analyzerMTX3001, MTX3002 and MTX3003: MTX sets complete withfour measurement instruments for the laboratory - Details on page 188
