It excludes retail parks, localcentres <strong>and</strong> small parades of shops of purelylocal significance.<strong>The</strong> term “edge-of-centre” is a location withineasy walking distance (usually not more than300 to 400 metres) of the primary retail area of atown centre, <strong>and</strong> providing parking facilities thatserve the centre as well as the new developmentthus enabling one trip to serve several purposes.
