QWLthermocouple contactsAvailable from Amphenol is a complete line of cylindrical connectorsfeaturing thermocouple contact insert arrangements. The design of these contacts is such that standard shell componentsand resilient inserts are used in the assemblies. Thermocouplecontacts are available in all arrangements whichcontain size 12 and 16 pins and sockets, and feature probeproof, closed entry design for the socket contacts. MSapprovedand other commercial arrangements may be orderedwith thermocouple contacts substituted for the standard contacts. All thermocouple contact layouts may contain either iron, alumel, chromel, constantan, standard (copper) or brass(dummy) contacts. The resulting assembly will be identifiedwith an Amphenol ® part number.IDENTIFICATIONFor the purpose of wiring identification, thermocouple contacts aremarked in accordance with the following color code which agrees withthe wire code.Chromel. . . . . . . QWLthermocouple arrangementsMilitary connector specifications do not provide for thermocouplecontact usage in established MS inserts. Amphenol® has established a series of insert arrangementscontaining thermocouple contacts. Some inserts havebeen rotated into positions outside those covered by MSdrawings to prevent cross plugging. Available thermocouplearrangements are tabulated on the following pages. Please contact your local sales office or Sidney, NY foradditional information regarding thermocouple arrangementsparticular to your application. The following abbreviations are used in the contact material column:Abbreviation Ir.
