4General MaintenanceThis chapter addresses several maintenance-related subjects, including:• General Routine Maintenance, page 4-1,• Accessories and Options, page 4-2.• Exhaust Fan Filter Maintenance, page 4-9• Battery Maintenance, page 4-9• Equipment Guidelines and Safety Precautions, page 4-11An operator should perform the analyzer maintenance and service procedures inthis section on a regular or as-needed basis. All other service should be performedby an authorized service representative.General Routine MaintenanceProper maintenance is essential to accurate, efficient functioning of the FlexibleGas Analyzer. Perform routine maintenance as described below.Recommend WeeklyLeak CheckPerforming a leak check on the sample system helps to ensure that no vacuumleaks or hardware leaks exist in the system to cause inaccurate readings. Leakcheck intervals may vary depending on the application and use, but once per weekas part of routine maintenance is recommended. See Leak Check, page 3G-3.Recommend QuarterlyGas CalibrationDuring normal operation, a gas analyzer may be calibrated periodically to ensureaccurate gas measurement. The gas bench is calibrated using a specialcomposition of gases that have been certified for concentration. Calibrationintervals may vary depending on the application and use, but quarterly as part ofroutine maintenance is recommended, more frequently with heavy use. See GasCalibration, page 3G-1.Recommend BiweeklyWater Trap / FilterReplace the water trap / filter every two weeks or if low flow exists that will not goaway. Also, replace this filter if excessively high HC readings exist that do not goaway after allowing the pump to run for several minutes. See Water Trap / FilterMaintenance, page 4-8.Exhaust Fan FilterClean the exhaust fan filter at the same time you replace the water trap / filter. Theexhaust fan filter is located directly behind the water trap / filter bowl. See ExhaustFan Filter Maintenance, page 4-9.4-1
