At the end of 10 seconds you are directed to restart theengine and the 2500 RPM Stage begins.1984 Jeeps with 2.5L EnginesDuring the 2500 RPM Stage, the upper RPM limit should be 2650.1984 Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth Sedans with 2.2L Fuel Injected Engines andAutomatic TransmissionsBefore beginning the Idle RPM Stage, set the parking break, press the brake pedaland run the idle stage with the vehicle in DRIVE. When the idle stage is complete,return the transmission to PARK and release the parking brake.1984-1987 BMW, 1985-1988 Volvo 740, and 1986-1987 Peugeot 505 Sedanswith Automatic TransmissionsIt is preferable for this vehicle to be inspected at its dealership due to the possibilityof transmission damage. If you still want to continue, the vehicle should be at normaloperating temperature. If the vehicle is not, drive the vehicle until it is warm. Do notperform the 2500 RPM stage but proceed directly to the Idle RPM Stage. If thevehicle fails the Idle RPM Stage, due to the possibility of transmission damage, it ispreferable that the vehicle be tested at its dealership.1985-1986 Ford Ranger and 1986 Ford Aerostar with 2.3L Engines******Idle RPM Stage - TEST IS INCOMPLETE BASED ON VIRGINIA SPECIdle Test1981-1985 GM Sedans with 5.0L Engines and Vin “Y” in Eighth PositionBefore beginning the 2500 RPM Stage, start the vehicle and allow it to idle for aperiod of 156 seconds.The Idle Test follows almost the same sequence as the TSI Test but it tests theengine at idle speed.
