time , but the change in temperature from 1982 to 1983 isQuite noticeable (Fig. 48). The cooling in all three wellsis in excess of 5°C and at the bottom of well SG - 11 thecooling is 13°C. Fig. 48 indicates that the cooling of theSvartsengi reservoir is Quite general, though the largestcooling is observed in well SG - 11. Furthermore, thelargest cooling is observed at depth in the reservoir.5.1.6 Cross-section FIt is almost parallel to cross - section E, but locatedfarther east in the production field (FIg. 37). Thetemperature distributions for 1982 and 1983 are shown inFig. 49 and 50 respectIvely. Temperature variations withinthe reservoir are Quite moderate at each time, but acooling of approximately 5°C is observed both in thesouthern and in the northern end of this cross- section,i.e. at wells SG-8 and SG-12. Temperatures in wells SG - 5and SG - 6 have not changed significantl y in the same time.Fig . 49 and 50 might indicate that a cold recharge isentering the geothermal reservoir both from the south andfrom the north . The effect of reinjection into SG - 12 in1982 might of course mask this picture. Significantcooling at large depth has not been confirmed in well SG-5and SG - 6. This can indicate that the upflow zone in theSvartsengi reservoir is located near these wells.5.2 Horizontal distributionThe horizontal distribution of temperature has been studiedat three levels, namely at 700, 1000 and 1100 m depth.This was done for 1978, 1982 and 1983. Data available from1978 or before can be regarded as close to the initialstate of the reservoir, but the situations in 1982 and 1983reflect the effect of full production in the field.
