Graham’s hard work was recognised, when he was awardedthe role <strong>of</strong> Logistics Officer on the Australian Championships Board, where he remainedfor a period <strong>of</strong> 14 years.SLSA Hall <strong>of</strong> Fame InducteesShannon Eckstein, Northcliffe SLSC, QLDShannon has won 6 Australian Ironman Titles (27 Australian Championship gold medals), 3International Ironman Titles (10 World <strong>Life</strong>saving gold medals) and captained Australianrepresentative teams on 6 different occasions. Shannon has been Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain IronmanChampion 6 times and was the 2011 SLSA Athlete <strong>of</strong> the Year.Michael Jones, Redhead SLSC, NSWMichael won 7 Australian Championships Beach Flags gold medals (1981-1988), 6 within consecutiveyears. He introduced a new style <strong>of</strong> turn for the Beach Flags event which iscommonly used in competition <strong>to</strong>day.Robert Brydon AMRobert was National Superintendent for 10 years. During this time he was the driver behind theintroduction <strong>of</strong> the Expired Air Method <strong>of</strong> Resuscitation (EAR) and hand wrote the SLSA lifesavingmanual upon EAR’s adoption. Robert was a change agent for SLS nationally and internationally,playing the men<strong>to</strong>r role <strong>to</strong> superintendents that followed.Peter George AM, Helensburgh – Stanwell Park SLSC, NSWAs National <strong>Life</strong>saving Direc<strong>to</strong>r, Peter developed and aligned all SLSA <strong>Awards</strong> in<strong>to</strong> the AustralianQualifications and Training Framework as well as subsequent certification <strong>of</strong> SLSA <strong>Awards</strong>. As Chair<strong>of</strong> the International <strong>Life</strong>saving Commission Peter made many required changes in order <strong>to</strong> developand advance the movement. Peter has consistently demonstrated sustained exceptional service forover 46 years at club, branch, state, national and international level.
