LION’S ROARReception AssemblyThank you to our wonderful reception children for their assembly this morning where they were veryexcited to share all the amazing facts they had found out about animals. It was clear that they were soexcited to prepare the costumes and dances and loved being the stars in the movies that were shown. Here are two quotes from our reception children:The best bit is the dancing part and you have to listen really hard.— Manolo Reyes RADI loved flapping my wings with all the blue feathers.— Penny Butler RADNursery AssemblyOur next assembly will be the nursery children performing the Hungry Caterpillar, a great book by EricCarle. This follows up on the discovery science work they have done observing cocoons and watchingwith amazement the whole evolution process. Note this assembly is for nursery parents and siblings onlyand will be held in the Cluster F Assembly Hall.Year 1 Careers day / KS 2 Sports dayAs there is no assembly for the rest of the school on Friday 14 July, this will allow the year one CareersDay and the KS 2 Sports Day to begin earlier. As it is our first run through with the new format for KS 2sports day, this is for students only this time, but we look forward to inviting parents in the future.Careers DayAs I mentioned above, next Friday, the 14 June is Careers Day in Year One. The children will have theopportunity to hear from a range of Year One parents about their chosen career and what that entails. The children are encouraged to wear clothes found at home to reflect their possible chosen career. Please also bring in PE kit, trainers and socks.ReportsYou will be receiving your End of Year reports next Monday with the opportunity of making appointmentsto see the teachers in the final week of term.PTC s (Parent Teacher Conferences)/ SLCs (Student Led Conferences )The end of year Conferences will take place on Wednesday 26 June from 1-5pm. Please make anappointment if you feel that you require further information after you have your child’s report. There is abooking form with your child’s report. Lessons will finish at lunchtime that day. Children shouldtherefore be collected at 12.30pm. The NSP school bus will provide a 12.30pm service for their ridersand will depart from Gate 5 as normal. Please inform the bus office if you wish to avail of this service. The free satellite bus service will not be available at this time. One final comment about reports; we get a number of parents requesting old reports and copies ofreports given out, once we give these out it is the parents responsibility to keep them and provide futureschools with copies and not ours, so once you have shared your child’s report with them please storethem away safely.Tudor dayLast Thursday saw Year 4 celebrate their Tudor Day, it was a great success and once again elicited anumber of excited children’s comments-:Year 4 Tudor Day was spectacular. My favourite part was doing the leap frog in our DramaActivity. It was really fun to leap over people and watch them jump over other people. I alsoreally enjoyed the feast because an apple went into Sylvie’s apple juice! – Luci Hall 4SC2 7 June 2013THE BRITISH SCHOOL MANILATelephone 860-4800 Fax 860-4900 Website www.britishschoolmanila.org
