No refunds will be given for privatelessons not used at the end of the year. Complete refunds willbe made on programs cancelled by the Y. Participants registered incancelled classes will be notified. The Y reserves the right to makechanges in scheduling when necessary.CLASS PROTOCOLInstructors reserve the right to move a student to a different levelbased upon the requirements of the class and present skill level ofthe student. Please feel free to approach our swim instructors afterclass to discuss your child’s progress. Please note that a detailedevaluation report will be issued at the end of each session.Participants will be given certifications and skill evaluations on thelast day of their lessons. Video cameras and picture taking arewelcome on the last day. Each lesson builds upon the skills taughtin the previous lesson and each level builds upon the skills taught inthe previous level. Participants have completed a level aftersuccessful performance of all the objectives of their current skilllevel. It is common for participants to attend the same class severaltimes in order to successfully complete all of the required skills.Progression is a very individual process. We encourage you tocelebrate each individual accomplishment and not to compareyour and/or your child’s progress to other students in class.OBSERVATIONSThis is an exciting time for you and your child. We understand thatwe have your most valued possession in our care and we assure youthat their safety, as well as the safety of other children, is our toppriority. For this reason, we must insist that parents remain as faraway from the pool as possible. We encourage you to wait to talkto your child or give words of encouragement until after his or herlesson is over. Talking to your child is distracting and takes focusaway from the instructor. This creates a safety issue for your child, the instructor and the entire class. Participants are not permitted toenter the water, regardless of their swimming ability, until theinstructor is ready and with the class. Our YMCA of the USAchild-to-instructor ratios are: Preschool (6:1) & Youth 6 years andabove (6:1). We encourage you to talk with your instructor if youhave any comments or concerns. Please wait until the class is overso your instructor can give you their full attention. You are alsowelcome to contact the Aquatics Director if you have any additionalquestions or concerns.TWIN LAKES FAMILY YMCA204 E.
