Please know th<strong>at</strong> we are not able <strong>to</strong> s<strong>to</strong>re food here, so anythingnot e<strong>at</strong>en will either be thrown away or sent home with you.We are also able <strong>to</strong> provide meals for your family, free of charge, <strong>to</strong>e<strong>at</strong> with your child if you are here <strong>at</strong> mealtime. Please let us know <strong>at</strong>least one hour in advance if you would like <strong>to</strong> be served a meal.• How many visi<strong>to</strong>rs can come? Are there age restrictions?You may bring up <strong>to</strong> four people <strong>at</strong> a time when you visit your child.We do not have any age restrictions; however, children under 18must be accompanied by an adult and supervised <strong>at</strong> all times. If visi<strong>to</strong>rscome th<strong>at</strong> are either not on the approved Phone/Visi<strong>to</strong>r Log or donot have the confidentiality number, they will not be allowed <strong>to</strong> seeyour child.• Where do visits take place?Visiting will take place in a conference room or other design<strong>at</strong>edplace. Visiting on the residential units is not allowed. You may visi<strong>to</strong>n the hospital's grounds with a doc<strong>to</strong>r's order only, from your child'spsychi<strong>at</strong>rist.• Is my child allowed <strong>to</strong> leave the facility when I visit?P<strong>at</strong>ients are allowed <strong>to</strong> go on therapeutic home visits (THVs) withtheir parent or guardian. These visits are arranged by your child'stherapist. The length of time is determined by insurance companiesand the needs of the child.P<strong>at</strong>ients are allowed <strong>to</strong> leave on a pass with their parent or guardian.The passes are arranged by your child's therapist. The length anddetails of the pass should be discussed with the therapist.<strong>Shodair</strong> encourages these visits. However, if your child is notable <strong>to</strong> be safe around others, a pass/THV may be scheduled fora different time.14
