This isa problem which will present an interestingsubject for discussion in the next stage <strong>of</strong> thisinquiry, the import <strong>of</strong> which must now bemade apparent by the sketch <strong>of</strong> the structure<strong>of</strong> the nerve system, <strong>and</strong> the results <strong>of</strong> theexperiments as to localization.Nothing more is now required to completethis narrative leading up to this problem, <strong>and</strong>discovering its proportions, than a brief account<strong>of</strong> correlative inquiry which has affordedstrong confirmatory evidence as to the trut,h<strong>of</strong> the conclusions favoring localization, <strong>and</strong>coardinate action <strong>of</strong> different portions <strong>of</strong> thebrain as the central organ governing thewhole nerve system. <strong>The</strong> c~rrobe~at~iive eri-
