Chillers for process applicationFluid ChillerProcess ReturnPumpHeat ExchangerProcess FlowThis system is often used where a product requires coolingbut due to its nature or consistency cannot come intocontact with the refrigeration process. Such productsinclude oil, volatile fluids and food products. Andrews Sykesovercome this problem by using a fluid chiller in conjunctionwith a process heat exchanger (normally a plate type). The fluid chiller produces chilled water which is then circulated through the heat exchangerand then returned to the chiller in a closed circuit. The product that requires cooling is alsocirculated through the heat exchanger but is kept separate from the chilled water at alltimes. As the product passes through the heat exchanger it is cooled by the chilled waterthat is being circulated at the same time, this enables the product’s temperature to bereduced to the specified level. As the chilled water passes through the same heat exchangerits temperature will rise, as it is effectively being heated by the product. The water will thenbecome warm as it is returned to the chiller to become chilled once more and so the circuitis closed. The connection between the heat exchanger and the chiller would normally be throughflexible pipes with quick release couplings. The temperature can be controlled by thecontrol system within the chiller itself. This application can be easily adjusted to suit mostenvironments.or Call Us Free 0800 211 61147
