Electric Heating Typeselectrical inlet for ease of installation. An overheat safety system and a 3 ph circuitbreaker are fitted for added protection, as standard. Industrial type castors and robustlifting handles ensure the unit remains truly portable. For fully automatic operation, aplug-in external thermostat can be provided separately.Radiant QuartzDesigned to achieve local spot heating within large areas, these heaters consist oftwo short wave infra-red quartz emitters housed within a strong steel constructioncabinet. Each of the emitters, or tubes, produce 1.5 kW of heat. The tubes can be usedseparately or together to produce a total of 3 kW per heater. The main advantages of aquartz type heater is that it only heats the area contained within the bright red glow thatis emitted, therefore being ideal for spot heating in large warehouses or workshops. Thebright red glow also generates a feeling of warmth. Another advantage with this typeof unit is that the heat is produced within 1 or 2 seconds of the unit being switched on,without any warm up period. This makes it ideal for areas that need heating for shortperiods of time quickly and efficiently. The units are for use on a 1 ph supply only, butcan be supplied either in 230 or 110 volt versions.Radiant CeramicVery similar in operation to the quartz heater, these units have three ceramic infra-redelements each having an output of 1 kW. The elements can be switched separately orused together to produce a total of 3 kW heating output. The only other real differencebetween the two models is that the Ceramic heaters do not emit the red glow that isproduced by the Quartz units.LotusA smaller lightweight version of the ceramic heater, mounted within small carrying frame.Using the same type of elements as the Ceramic units, the Lotus has 3 settings of0.8 kW, 1.6 kW and 2.4 kW. These units are only available in 230 volt for operation on a1 ph supply.Oil filled Radiatorideal for use in sensitive areas where the unit can come into contact with the elderly, infirm or young children. This unit has no opening to the heating element, which isinsulated within the oil in the radiator. The heat is produced as the element warms theoil, which in turn heats the radiator. Commonly specified in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, public buildings, museums and art galleries. The unit has two settings, witha total output capacity of 2.5 kW and has a built in thermostat for fully automaticoperation.Small Electric heatersIn addition to the units detailed Andrews Sykes also offer a wide range of small electricheaters suitable for use in domestic, retail or office type environments. The rangeincludes both small fan heaters and convector heaters. These are generally for use on230 volt 1 ph or 110 volt electric supplies, having output capacities of up to 3 kW and areavailable with a thermostat if required.
