Cameron Beckman, who won in 2001,is second with 508,950 and Fred Funk, whose last<strong>TOUR</strong> win came in Mississippi in 1998, is third with$488,465.Last year’s final-round scoring average of 69.141 isthe lowest recorded single-round scoring averageat Annandale Golf Club for the Southern FarmBureau. It also marks only the sixth time that thesingle-day scoring average has been in the 60s outof 36 rounds played, since 1994. It was played as theMagnolia State Classic at Hattiesburg (MS) CCfrom 1968-85, then became the Deposit GuarantyGolf Classic and continued to be played atHattiesburg CC through 1993. It was an unofficialevent from 1968-82 and 1986-93; money earnedcounted on the money list, but a victory wasn’t anofficial <strong>PGA</strong> <strong>TOUR</strong> win. From 1983-85, the eventwas part of the Tournament Players Series(forerunner to the current Nationwide Tour). Assuch, it wasn’t considered official in any capacityon the <strong>PGA</strong> <strong>TOUR</strong>. In 1994, the event moved to itspresent location, the Annandale GC in Madison,MS, and became an official <strong>PGA</strong> <strong>TOUR</strong> event.
