The other winner was Darren Clarke the week prior at the 2003 WGC-NEC Invitational. He became afully exempt member of the <strong>PGA</strong> <strong>TOUR</strong> and earned a two-year exemption on the <strong>PGA</strong> <strong>TOUR</strong> that will take himthrough the 2005 season. This is just the third time since 1990 that more than one non-member has won in aseason. In 2001, Jose Coceres (WORLDCOM CLASSIC), Retief Goosen (U.S. Open) and David Gossett(John Deere Classic) accomplished the feat, while in 1991 it was amateur Phil Mickelson at the NorthernTelecom Open and Ian Woosnam at the USF&G Classic.Adam Scott won the tournament on the front nine of the 7,415-yard TPC of Boston course. For the week, hewas 15-under on the front, compared to 5-under on the back. Scott also took advantage of the 12 par-5 holes,which he played at 13-under, and led the field with a par-5 scoring average of 3.92.Adam Scott set the tournament course (9-under 62), the 36-hole (11-under 131), the 54-hole (15-under 198)and the 72-hole record (20-under 264) at the inaugural Deutsche Bank Championship.
