The sixwere the first since Bernhard Langer in 2001.Eligibility Requirements for the 2004 MCI HeritageEligible players are:• Winners of MCI Heritage prior to 2000, and winners of MCI Heritage in 2000 and beyond for a period of five yearsfollowing their win.• Winners of the U.S. Open or PGA Championship who played in a minimum of 15 PGA TOUR cosponsored or approvedtournaments in 2002.• Winners of THE PLAYERS Championship and Masters Tournament from 1995 to 1997 and from 2000 to 2004. Beginningwith the 1998 winners of these events, winners are eligible for five years.• Winners of the British Open from 1994 to 1997 and from 1999 to 2003. Beginning with the 1998 winner, winners areeligible for five years.• Winners of the NEC World Series of Golf in the last 10 years (1994-1997).• Winners of THE TOUR Championship in the last three years (2001-2003).• Winners of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in the last three years (2002-2004).• Winners of the WGC-NEC Invitational and WGC-American Express Championship in the last three years (2001-2003).• Winner of the 2003 U.S. Amateur Championship, if still an amateur player.• The leader from the final Official PGA TOUR Money List in each of the last five calendar years (1999-2003).• Playing members of the last-named U.S. Ryder Cup team (2002).• Current PGA TOUR members who were playing members from the last-named U.S. and International Presidents Cupteams (2003).• The 20 players who are leading on the 2004 Official PGA TOUR Money List through the BellSouth Classic.• Five players not otherwise eligible who are leading on the 2004 Official PGA TOUR Money List through the BellSouthClassic.• The top 50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking through completion of the Bay Hill Invitational.• Eight sponsor exemptions, restricted as follows:• Two from among the current year’s PGA TOUR membership.• Two from among the 2003 PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament’s top 30 finishers and ties and the first through 20thfinishers from the 2003 Official Nationwide Tour Money List.• Two foreign players designated by the Commissioner.• Either the current winner of the PGA Section Championship or the current PGA Section Player of the Year where thetournament is played, as determined by the Section.• Two qualifiers who are PGA members, from the PGA Section where the tournament is played.• PGA TOUR members who use an exemption for 2004 as one of the leaders (either top 25 or top 50) on the Official PGATOUR Career Money List.• Life members of the PGA TOUR.• Those PGA TOUR members among the top 125 finishers on the 2003 Official PGA TOUR Money List.• Members in the Top 125-Nonmembers category whose official money for the previous year equals or exceeds theamount of official money earned by the player finishing in 125th position on the 2003 Official PGA TOUR Money List.• PGA TOUR members from the current Tournament Winners category.• If necessary to complete a field of 132 players, PGA TOUR members from the 2004 priority ranking of eligible players,after the top 125, in order of their positions on such list.SECTION 3 / SUMMARIESWWW.PGATOUR.COM 2004 PGA TOUR Media Guide / 3-37
