The table includesinformation on the distribution <strong>of</strong> men according toregion, residence, age, marital status, education, wealthindex quintiles, and ethnicity <strong>of</strong> the head <strong>of</strong> household.Approximately, 28 percent <strong>of</strong> interviewed eligible menlive in Sumadia and Western Serbia, and 20 percent inBelgrade. Distribution among the other two regions isequal (about 26 percent). The predominant group in thesample are men between 25–29 years <strong>of</strong> age, around 38percent. The proportion <strong>of</strong> younger men is significantlylower — there are 29 percent <strong>of</strong> men in the 15–19 yearsgroup. Around 18 percent <strong>of</strong> all men in this sample aremarried, while 80 percent have never been married. Themajority <strong>of</strong> interviewed men have secondary education(65 percent), while the proportion <strong>of</strong> men with noeducation is 0.1 percent, with only primary education is8 percent, and with higher education is approximately27 percent. In accordance with the household ethnicdistribution, the majority <strong>of</strong> men live in householdswhere the ethnicity <strong>of</strong> the head <strong>of</strong> the household isSerbian. The respective proportion <strong>of</strong> other ethnicgroups is under 4 percent. As for the wealth indexquintiles, fewer men aged 15–29 live in householdswithin the poorest quintile — about 15 percent — whileapproximately the same number <strong>of</strong> men belongs to each<strong>of</strong> the remaining groups (20 to 23 percent).MONITORING THE SITUATION OF CHILDREN AND WOMEN 35
