In total, 96 percent <strong>of</strong> women who have heard <strong>of</strong> AIDShave an accepting attitude on at least one <strong>of</strong> these fourstatements. The most common discriminative attitudeis that women would want to keep the HIV status <strong>of</strong>a family member a secret and they will not buy freshvegetables from a shopkeeper who has AIDS (in 67percent <strong>of</strong> cases). More educated women and those livingin the household within the richest quintile have moreaccepting attitudes, than the ones with lower educationand lower socio-economic status.Similar patterns are observed for men aged 15–29 years.The most common discriminative attitude is that 7 out <strong>of</strong>10 men interviewed would want to keep the HIV status <strong>of</strong>a family member a secret.
