Knowledge about HIV Transmission andMisconceptions about HIV/AIDS in Roma SettlementsIn Roma Settlements in Serbia, 72 percent of all womenaged 15–49 years have heard of AIDS. Less than half(46 percent) of them know two ways of preventing HIVtransmission. Overall, 53 percent of women know ofhaving one faithful uninfected sex partner and 52 percentknow of using a condom every time, as two ways ofpreventing HIV transmission.
