There are somedifferentials among boys and girls e.g. 86 is the early childdevelopment index score for male, and 91 for female, children.The ECDI index is higher for children that were attendingpreschool (99). Looking at the mothers’ education, ECDI is88 percent for children whose mother has primary educationand 95 percent for children whose mother has secondaryeducation. The index ranges from 83 for the poorest quintileto 93 for the richest quintile.Analysis <strong>of</strong> the four domains <strong>of</strong> child developmentshows that 98 percent <strong>of</strong> children are on track in thelearning domain, 99 percent in the physical, 11 percentin the literacy-numeracy and 89 percent in the social-emotional domains. In almost each individual domainthe higher score is associated with children living inthe richest quintile, with children attending preschooland older children.MONITORING THE SITUATION OF CHILDREN AND WOMEN 151
