The amount of time it takes to obtain water is presentedin Table WS.3R, and the person who usually collectsthe water in Table WS.4R. Note that these results referto one roundtrip from home to drinking water source.Information on the number of trips made in one day wasnot collected.Table WS.3R shows that for 93 percent of households, thedrinking water source is on the premises. In the poorestquintile, three-quarters of household members have waterin the premises (75 percent). On the other hand, 97 percentof households in urban and 85 percent in rural areas havewater on premises. For 4 percent of all households, it takesless than 30 minutes to get to the water source and bringwater, and 1 percent of households spend 30 minutes ormore for this purpose.
