Remind kidsthat an Internet playground is still aplayground and they need to play nicely.A good rule of thumb: If they wouldn’tdo something in real life, theyshouldn’t do it onlineKeep the computer in a central place soyou can see what’s going onEstablish expectations and limits aboutthe amount of time your children spendonline and what they doView your own habits carefully. You aretheir role modelsBut, mostly, be involved and have funwith them! Keeping children safe andteaching them how to use digital technologyresponsibly is all about stayinginvolved. Start by showing interest inthe sites they visit and the games theyplay and your job will be a lot easierwhen they start exploring these technologiesmore independently.Mrs. Jennifer Rash, Counseling InternTarget ProgramAnother terrific way to raise fundsfor our school is to use your Target®Visa® or Target® Card. We willreceive a percentage of the amount ofeach purchase in the form of a cashdonation from Target through the TakeCharge of Education® program. Justvisit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. After youdesignate your card, remember to useit each time you shop at Target to helpPaxtonia earn cash.
