We feel that we are studying and writingmuch literature but actually we have lostit, and we continue losing India also. Wemust understand why as compared to anyother country, literature is more importantfor India.Why the knowledge of its tradition isnecessary and how the aim of <strong>Hindi</strong>criticism, should be against feudalism andagainst the people supporting imperialism.De-Colonizing CriticismAt any age Imperialist battles were wonon the basis of how much self-confidenceof the masses of any country, especiallyof intellectuals, had been broken. Howmuch distortion had been done to theirracial traditions and future, how manypeople were made copy cats and blindfollower of their culture. No Indian theorygoes to the West, but the moment a newtheory comes in the West India startsbeating its drum. There is long chain from'New Criticism' to the theory ofdeconstruction. In <strong>Hindi</strong> hardly one comesacross any reasonably practical criticismbased on these theories, still the bigul oftheory continues to harp. Definitelybefore talking about some principles wehave to talk about some principle, we haveto talk about time and place. What wecould think depends from which place andtime we are thinking.
