April 4, 2010 Easter Sunday Page FourFrom the Pastor’s Desk....Dear Parishioners and Benefactors of St. Ferdinand parish!Once again we celebrate Easter, which is a great source of our spiritual renewal for each of us. The Liturgyof Easter Sunday leads us to an empty tomb to personally meet the Resurrected Christ and there proclaimour faith by repeating the words of St. Paul to Thessalonians “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose” (1Tes4, 14)Dear parishioners, I wish you renewed faith in the Resurrection of our Lord. May it guide you in transformationof your life and help you reject fear and anxiety, darkness and despair, and assist you in becoming thepeople of resurrection faith, that stare firmly at the Victorious Christ. From this empty tomb flows a true hopeto us faithful, that one day we will be resurrected.Let our hearts be full of that Easter hope, as those who have hope live in a different way. That hope thatflows from the joy of meeting Resurrected Lord I wish you and your loved ones the most. I extend my Eastergreetings to all who are with us today, friends, families, guests and anyone who desired to spend this holy day inour community of faith. Therefore, let the Resurrected Christ give you strength and enlighten our hearts andminds same way as he did to his apostles on their way to Emmaus, so we can become His true witnesses in today’scontemporary world.Bless! The peace and grace of Resurrected Christ may accompany you and your everyday activities. GodThank you to all who donated to the Renovation Fund. In the month of March $5,798 was collected.God bless you for your generosity. Besides the donations collected during our second collection, we received agenerous individual donation from the Knych Family in the amount of $1,000. Additionally, I would especiallylike to thank our Polish Rosary Groups with its president, Ms. Helena Lesak for the donation of $4,000 to coverthe cost of installing the altar of St. Mary of Czestochowa. May our Holy Mother, through her intercession, plead for graces for the members of the Rosary Groups, who made such great sacrifices in order to provide thenew altar for St. Ferdinand Parish. As was already announced, due to Easter Sunday falling this year on the first Sunday of the month, oursecond collection for the Renovation Fund, will be collected on the weekend of April 10/11. This is, again, anotheropportunity to support this fund. Remember, donations collected for the Building and MaintenanceFund are for general maintenance. Donations for the Renovation Fund, on the other hand, will cover the costsof any repairs to the buildings and our parish grounds. The donations collected this month will cover the repairsto our cooling system in the church. The warmer season is approaching quickly and in order to use the airconditioningsystem in the church, we must to replace the leaking air ducts in the attic, so it will not further damagethe church ceiling.May our Lord bestow many blessing and you and your family for your generosity and sacrifice on behalfof our parish. Once a month a Mass is offered in the intention of all benefactors and supporters of St. FerdinandParish.Fr. Jason Torba

Page Nine Easter Sunday April 4, 2010Z biurka Księdza Proboszcza ...Drodzy Parafianie i Dobrodzieje! Pawła do Tesaloniczan: Wierzymy, żeJezus istotnie umarł i zmartwychwstał (1 Tes 4, 14).Drodzy, życzę Wam żywej wiary w Zmartwychwstanie Pańskie. April 4, 2010 Easter Sunday Page ThirteenThe sun is up, so let us greet the day,for we’ve been stumbling in the night too long. And too long, too, the shadows have held sway;we need at last to hear the morning’s song.Yes, we’ve been stumbling in the night too long, and one could make a case for darkness now.We need, it’s true, to hear the morning’s song, but how can these days such a song allow? The case is surely strong for darkness now, because of news across the countryside. How can these days a song of joy allowwhen we know that the Christ was crucified?Because of news across the countryside, the music deadens--all the notes go sour--for we know that the Christ was crucified, which brings us to our darkest, saddest hour. The music deadens--all the notes go sour--yet, now, recalling what the Master said,SONG AND DANCE INSTEADCopyright 2010 by John B. Reynolds (john@jrwrites.comperhaps, perhaps, our darkest, saddest hourwill bring us all to song and dance instead.“Destroy this temple,” once the Master said, and then “…in three days I will raise it up.”So maybe we’ll find song and dance insteadof sadness, darkness, and death’s bitter cup.And then “…in three days I will raise it up.”And look, this third day hence, the empty tomb,as sadness, darkness, and death’s bitter cupsurrender to a dazzling Easter’s bloom.Behold this third day hence, the empty tomb! The darkness--once complete--is now denied, surrendered to a dazzling Easter’s bloom,so now our Morning Song is amplified! The darkness--once complete--is now denied, like shadows that have too long, too, held sway.Indeed, our Morning Song is amplified:The Son is risen!
