How to submit an application怎 樣 遞 交 申 請(9) The applicant should forward the following documents in person to the Authority:申 請 人 應 親 自 向 委 員 會 遞 交 下 列 文 件 :(a) the original and one copy of the completed application form; and已 填 妥 的 申 請 表 正 副 本 各 一 份 ; 以 及(b) 2 photocopies each of the current Business Registration Certificate and Branch RegistrationCertificate of the company.公 司 現 有 商 業 登 記 證 及 分 行 登 記 證 影 印 本 各 兩 份 。(10) The applicant must pay a fee for the application. Please collect a demand note from the Authority atRoom 408, Prince’s Building, 10 Chater Road, Central, Hong Kong after submission of thedocuments stated at (9) above. The application fee should be paid according to the payment instructionsprinted at the back of the demand note. If you pay by cheque or cashier order, it should be made payableto “The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region” or “The Government of theSGS 12 (02/2009i)

Processing Time處 理 時 間(12) The Authority will forward a copy of the application form to the Commissioner of Police forinvestigation. In accordance with the SGSO, the maximum time for the Police to submit the investigationresult to the Authority is 60 days after the day on which the application was made. The date immediatelyfollowing (i) the end of this 60-day period or (ii) the date on which the Commissioner of Police notifiesthe Authority that any investigation carried out under section 20 of the SGSO in respect of the applicationhas been completed, whichever is the earlier, is referred to as “the material date”. An applicant or thePolice may apply to the Authority for extension of “the material date”. The Authority may exercise itsstatutory power to extend “the material date” for each application twice at most, by specifying a periodnot longer than 30 days on each occasion.委 員 會 會 把 申 請 表 副 本 送 交 警 務 處 處 長 , 以 便 進 行 調 查 。 根 據 《 保 安 及 護 服 務 條 例 》的 規 定 , 警 方 最 遲 須 於 申 請 提 出 翌 日 起 計 60 天 內 , 把 調 查 結 果 送 交 委 員 會 。“ 有 關 日 期 ”是 指 (i) 上 述 60 天 期 限 屆 滿 翌 日 , 或 (ii) 警 務 處 處 長 通 知 委 員 會 根 據 《 保 安 及 護 服 務 條 例 》第 20 條 就 有 關 申 請 所 進 行 的 調 查 已 告 完 成 的 通 知 日 期 ( 以 較 早 日 期 為 準 )。 申 請 人 或 警 方 可向 委 員 會 申 請 延 長 “ 有 關 日 期 ”。 委 員 會 可 行 使 其 法 定 權 力 , 把 每 宗 申 請 的 “ 有 關 日 期 ”延 長 最 多 兩 次 , 而 每 次 所 指 明 的 期 間 不 得 多 於 30 天 。(13) In line with the statutory timeframe stipulated in the SGSO, the Authority will process and determine theapplication within 28 days after “the material date” if no hearing is to be conducted to consider theapplication. If the Police object to the application for a licence or any member of the Authority gives arequisite notice, the Authority will fix a date for hearing case before determining the application.按 照 《 保 安 及 護 服 務 條 例 》 訂 明 的 法 定 期 限 , 如 無 需 舉 行 聆 訊 以 審 議 有 關 申 請 , 委 員會 會 於 “ 有 關 日 期 ” 後 的 28 天 內 處 理 有 關 申 請 和 作 出 決 定 。 如 警 方 反 對 有 關 的 牌 照 申請 , 或 委 員 會 成 員 發 出 要 求 召 開 會 議 通 知 書 , 委 員 會 就 申 請 作 出 決 定 之 前 , 會 擇 定 日 期舉 行 聆 訊 。(14) The Authority will issue a written notice of decision to the applicant. - 4 -E. Payment of Annual Fee繳 付 年 費(15) If the Authority decides to renew a licence, a prescribed fee will be payable upon the renewal andannually thereafter during the validity of the licence. The amount of annual fee to be paid depends on thenature and type(s) of security work involved. Please refer to the Fees Schedule attached to theapplication form.
