Here one can highlight:º º the PIEE, or Integrated Energy EfficiencyProjects, which had a major impact onreducing the energy bills for the premisesand installations of large companies from theIndustry and Commerce and Services sectors.The results achieved in 2012: an estimatedEUR 2.5 m in savings for the PIEE proposalsaccepted; a reduction of 15 GWh/year in energyconsumption and emission more than 4,000tonnes of CO 2/year prevented;º º ease: - a service provided in house thatallows companies to view their electricity, gasand water consumption in real time online;historical analyses, consumption forecasts andbenchmark analyses are also possible. Thisservice already has more than 2,000 metersbeing monitored;º º in the area of distributed generation, the largestever mini-generation project in Portugal,and one of the fifteen largest in Europe, waslaunched in 2012 in partnership with SONAE.The project consists of the installation of 46photovoltaic plants on the roofs on ModeloContinente stores, which will generate 125GWh of electricity over 25 years, avoiding theemission of more than 42.000ton of CO 2.As a leader in the micro-generation market withmore than 1,000 systems installed in Portugal,<strong>EDP</strong> is strengthening its commitment to cleanenergy sources with the launch, in early 2013,of an offer, which, in addition to providingadditional income for the sale of energygenerated, allows customers to save on theirgas and electricity bills every month.In Spain, the products and services offered tocompanies includes, amongst other things, energyaudits, consumption management, installed poweroptimisation and reactive energy correctionsystems and energy infrastructure maintenance.In Brazil, the <strong>EDP</strong> no Brasil Group supplierincludes in its activity portfolio the provisionof value-added services to free market electricitycustomers: technical services – the building of88/138 kV substations and 88/138 kV distributionlines – and consultancy and managementservices.There is also a diversified offer for the residentialand business segmentº º Electronic Bill – there were 163,983 newsubscriptions to the electronic billing systemin Portugal and Spain in 2012, with thepenetration rate growing from 12% to 14.5%.By the end of the year the number of ElectronicBill subscribers exceeded 1 million (1,096,093).º º Casa Total and Total Negócios – a dual gas andelectricity offer. Already available in Spain, thedual offer was launched in Portugal in 2012 inthe form of the Casa Total 10+2 product;º º FUNCIONA – revision and maintenance of gasand electricity equipment. In 2012 this servicewas expanded to include air conditioning78equipment, with the FUNCIONA CLIMA product.This product is set to launch in Portugal inearly 2013;º º Energy Certification – <strong>EDP</strong> is the marketleader, having already issued more than 45,000certificates. An energy certificate is valid forten years;º º Energy Audit – a service launched in 2012 thatmakes it possible for customers to track andoptimise their consumption. Energy efficiencymeasures, tariff optimisation and contractedpower proposals are also made and thepotential for installation of renewable energiesis studied;º º HC Powerhome – This is an innovative deviceoffered by HC Energía, allowing customers toreduce their contracted power to the minimumlevel required. The device identifies a numberof priority domestic appliances and keepsthem running, while managing the others in anoptimised way and in time periods when pricesare lower, especially for customers with dualtariffplans;º º Car-e – A solution offered by HC Energía forcharging electric vehicles, with the installationof a charging point in single family homes;º º Mobile Applications – New apps for iPhone,Android and Windows8 were developed in 2012.These apps converge in the functionalitiesoffered through traditional channels: consultingbills; consulting current accounts; consultingdata for ATM payments; reading meters andsending readings; and a virtual assistant –known as “The light’s gone out” – that helps thecustomer with traditional screening when thereis no electricity at a facility;º º Green Electricity – In 2012, <strong>EDP</strong> reached519,124 customers, increasing in 22% facing2011. The greatest consumption is in theUS, where all electricity sold is certified asgreen electricity. In Spain, under the SourceGuarantee System and Labelling of Electricity,HC Energía and Naturgas received 5,042 GWhas Guarantees of Source. Of this amount,4,857 GWh were used to certify renewableconsumption (“green” consumption) of 514,564supply points, thus ensuring that the powerconsumption of all residential customers andsmall businesses was 100% renewable. TheGuarantees of Source available in 2013 tocertify consumption of 2012 are not known untilthe Spanish regulator publishes the results,which is expected to be in April 2013.A World Full Of Energy
