He is President ofthe Specialized Section for Reprivatizations (SER)within the Ministry of Finance (since 1988) andChairman of the Supervisory Board of CIMPOR(since 1992). He was a Member of the Board ofDirectors of <strong>EDP</strong>, responsible for strategic planning(1976-1988). During this period he has activelyparticipated on the reorganization and consolidationof <strong>EDP</strong>, in optimizing the Generation NationalSystem, in the procurement for large electricityprojects and in negotiating with the World Bankfor the expansion of generation and transmissioninfrastructures. He was a member of the NationalEnergy Plan Commission and a representativeof CPE and <strong>EDP</strong> at the Executive Committee andat the General Assembly of the Union for theCoordination of the Production and Transport ofElectric Power (1971-88). He was a member ofthe Board of Companhia Elécrtica do Alentejoe Algarve (1975-76). Between 1957 and 1975he developed work on hydropower generationas part of the Zêzere Hydroelectric and CPE.He was appointed member of the General andSupervisory Board of <strong>EDP</strong> on 15 th April 2009. He receiveda degree in Economics from Université deGenève (Switzerland) in 1980, where he wasalso Assistant Lecturer in the Department ofEconomics. He was a postgraduate lecturerin European Studies at Universidade Católica.He was a lecturer at Universidade Nova de Lisboaand at Universidade Católica from 1982 to 1995.He served as Assistant to the Secretary of Statefor Foreign Trade from 1986 until 1988. From1988 to 1990 he served as Vice-Chairman of theBoard of Directors of ICEP (Portuguese Institutefor Foreign Trade). From 1990 to 1998 he wasDirector of Banco Espírito Santo de Investimentosand, in 1998, he was appointed Chairman ofthe Board of Directors of Gás de Portugal andTransgás. In 2000 he joined Galp Energia asVice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. From2001 to 2004, he was the Executive Chairmanof Galp Energia and Chairman of the Board ofDirectors of Petrogal, Gás de Portugal, Transgásand Transgás-Atlântico. In 2004, he wasappointed Minister of Public Works, Transport andCommunication for Portugal’s 16th ConstitutionalGovernment. He also served as Chairman ofthe Portuguese Energy Association (APE)from 1999 to 2002, member of the TrilateralCommission from 1992 to 1998, Vice-Chairmanof the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP)and Chairman of the General SupervisoryBoard of Ambelis. He was also a Governmentrepresentative to the EU working group forthe trans-European network development. OnJanuary 2008 he was appointed as member ofthe General and Supervisory Board of BancoComercial Português, SA, having been previouslya member of the Superior Board of this bank. Hewas appointed on 30th March 2006 as Chairmanof the Executive Board of Directors, which officebegan on 30th June 2006, and reappointed on15th April 2009 and 20th February 2012.Nuno Maria Pestana de Almeida Alves. He wasborn on 1st April 1958. He holds a degree in NavalArchitecture and Marine Engineering (1980) anda Master in Business Administration (1985) bythe University of Michigan. In 1988, he joins thePlanning and Strategy Department of Millennium276BCP and in 1990 becomes an associate directorof the bank’s Financial Investments Division. In1991, Mr. Nuno Alves is appointed as the InvestorRelations Officer for the group and in 1994 hejoins the Retail network as Coordinating Manager.In 1996, he becomes Head of the Capital MarketsDivision of Banco CISF, currently MillenniumBCP Investimento, and, in 1997, Co Head of thebank’s Investment Banking Division. In 1999, Mr.Nuno Alves is appointed as Chairman and CEO ofCISF Dealer, the brokerage arm of Banco CISF.Since 2000, before his appointment as <strong>EDP</strong>’sChief Financial Officer in March 2006, Mr. NunoAlves acted as an Executive Board Member ofMillennium BCP Investimento, responsible forBCP Group Treasury and Capital Markets. He wasappointed on 30th March 2006 as member of theExecutive Board of Directors, which office beganon 30th June 2006, and reappointed on 15th April2009 and 20th February 2012.João Manuel Manso Neto. He was born onApril 2nd 1958. He graduated in Economicsfrom Instituto Superior de Economia (1981)and received a post-graduate degree inEuropean Economics from UniversidadeCatólica Portuguesa (1982). He also completeda professional education course through theAmerican Bankers Association (1982), theacademic component of the Master’s Degreeprogramme in Economics at the Faculty ofEconomics, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and,in 1985, the “Advanced Management Programfor Overseas Bankers” at the Wharton Schoolin Philadelphia.From 1981 to 1995 he worked atBanco Português do Atlântico, occupying severalpositions, manly as Head of the InternationalCredit Division, and General Manager responsiblefor Financial and South Retail areas.From 1995to 2002 he worked at the Banco ComercialPortuguês, where he held the posts of GeneralManager of Financial Management, GeneralManager of Large Corporates and InstitutionalBusinesses, General Manager of the Treasury,member of the Board of Directors of BCP Bancode Investimento and Vice-Chairman of BIG BankGdansk in Poland. From 2002 to 2003, he wasa member of the Board of Banco Português deNegócios. From 2003 to 2005 he worked at <strong>EDP</strong>as General Manager and Member of the Board of<strong>EDP</strong> Produção. In 2005 he was elected CEOat HC Energía, Chairman of Genesa and Memberof the Board of Naturgas Energia and OMEL. Hewas appointed on 30th March 2006 as memberof the Executive Board of Directors, which officebegan on 30th June 2006, and reappointed on15th April 2009 and 20th February 2012.António Manuel Barreto Pita de Abreu. He wasborn on 17th March 1950. He received his degreein Electrotechnical Engineering from InstitutoSuperior Técnico (Lisbon) in 1972, where heworked as an assistant lecturer and guestlecturer in the Department of ElectrotechnicalEngineering and Computers.Since March 31st,2006 Mr. Pita de Abreu is a Member of the Boardof Directors of <strong>EDP</strong> - Energias de Portugal, S.A.and since 2008 he is CEO of <strong>EDP</strong> – Energias doBrasil.He began working in the electricity sectorin 1977 and until 2006 he occupied, among others,the following positions: Executive member of the<strong>EDP</strong> Board of Directors; Chairman of the Board ofDirectors of REN (Portuguese National ElectricityGrid), <strong>EDP</strong> Produção, CPPE (PortugueseElectricity Generation Company), <strong>EDP</strong> Cogeraçãoand of Termoeléctrica do Ribatejo; Vice-Chairmanof the Board of Directors of <strong>EDP</strong> Distribuição –Energia, member of the Board of Directors of <strong>EDP</strong>Energia and of <strong>EDP</strong> Brasil; Executive memberof the Board of Directors of REN.
