He has a Lawdegree from Universidade de Lisboa (1983) and hewas accepted for a Ph.D. in History of Law fromUniversidade Complutense de Madrid, having alsoattended a Program for Corporate Strategy atINSEAD in Fontainebleau and a Program for SeniorManagement Officer from AESE. He served asSecretary of State for the Presidency of the Councilof Ministers and was a Speaker for the PortugueseGovernment. He represented the PortugueseGovernment at the Program of Public Managementat the OECD. From 2005 to 2007, he was Chairmanof the Board of Directors of BCP, having held alsoseveral roles within the Group, and Vice-Presidentof the Portuguese Banking Association. It wasalso Member of the National Council of the IPC,Chairman of the Audit Centralcer, Vice-Presidentof the General Assembly TagusPark and AdvisoryBoard Member of the Brazilian cement company,Cimentos Liz. From 2006 to 2007 he was a memberof the Board of Directors and Supervisory Boardof <strong>EDP</strong>. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board ofDirectors of BABEL, SGPS, SA, Vice Chairman ofAbreu Advogados, member of the Board of Directorsof LENA, SGPS, SA, Senior Advisor of the EurogroupConsulting, Vice President of the General Council ofthe University of Lisbon, member of the AdvisoryBoard of the Faculty of Arts, University of Coimbra andChairman of the General Meeting of the PortugueseAssociation of Publishers and Booksellers. He isa member of the Academia de Artes e Letras, authorof several books and articles on law, history,political science, economics, poetry and painting.He was appointed member of the General andSupervisory Board of <strong>EDP</strong> on 20th February 2012.Vasco Joaquim Rocha Vieira He has born on 16thAugust 1939. He has a degree in Civil Engineeringfrom Instituto Superior Técnico of the UniversidadeTécnica de Lisboa. He took several courses andspecialties, including General Course of Staff (1969-1970), Complementary Course of General Staff(1970-1972), Course of Command and Directionfor Official General (1982-1983) and the Course ofNational Defense (1984). In 1984 in was promotedto Brigadier and later, in 1987, he was promotedGeneral. In 1956 he joined the Military Collegehaving received the Alcazar of Toledo Award, givento the highest rated finalist of all students from theMilitary Academy, and the Marechal Hermes Awardin Brazil. From 1969 to 1973 he collaborated withLisbon´s City Hall. He taught at the Military Academyand at the Institute for Advanced Military Studies.He was Deputy Secretary for Communicationsand Public Works of the Macau Government(1974-1975). He joined the original core of officersof the Portuguese Armed Forces, promoting theinstallation of a democratic regime in Portugal.Attributing great importance to his military career,he was Chief of Staff of the Army and, inherently,member of the Revolution Council (1976-1978),National Military Representative at NATO SupremeHeadquarters Allied Powers in Europe - SHAPE,274in Belgium, and Honorary Director of Weapons andEngineering. He was Minister of the Republic forthe Azores (1986-1991), and Governor of Macau,where he served from 1991 until 1999. Currently,he is Member of the Board of Engineers, Memberof the Academy of Engineering, Vice-President ofthe Luso-Brazilian Foundation for the developmentof Portuguese-speaking world and Representativeof Portugal in ASEF, Former Chancellor of theMilitary Orders, Member of the Supreme Council ofAssociations of the Former Students of the MilitaryCollege, member of the Honorary Council of theISCSP (Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais ePolíticas) and Member of the Advisory Board ofthe Nova School of Business and Economics atUniversidade Nova de Lisboa. He was appointedmember of the General and Supervisory Board of<strong>EDP</strong> on 20th February 2012.Vítor Fernando da Conceição Gonçalves Hewas born on 16th April 1955. He has a degree inBusiness Administration and Management fromISEG (1978) and a PhD in Business Sciencesfrom FCEE at Universidad de Sevilla (1987). Hehas the title of “Agregado” in Management fromUniversidade Técnica de Lisboa (1993) and iscurrently a Full Professor in Management at ISEG(since 1994) as well as Vice-Rector at UniversidadeTécnica de Lisboa (since 2007). He is a Memberof the Economic and Social Council (since 2007)and Member of the Panel of Experts on WorldCompetitiveness at the IMD World CompetitivenessCentre (since 2005). He served as Chairman of theISEG Directive Council (2003-06) and Chairman ofthe ISEG Management Department (1992-2000). Hehas led several postgraduate and advanced trainingprograms for executives and was a guest lecturerat several universities in Portugal and abroad. Heis a Member of the Assessment Committee fordoctoral, post-doctoral and research candidatesat the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia(since 1997). He is Chairman of the Managementand Business Administration Degrees EvaluationCommittee (2001-02). Member of the ExecutiveCouncil of Economics and Business ManagementSpecialization at the Portuguese Economists’Association (1999-2001) and member of theProfessional Council. He is a non-executive Directorof ZON Multimedia and Chairman of its AuditCommittee (since 2007). He is currently Chairmanof the Gaptec / UTL Department (since 2007) andwas Director of Promindústria – Sociedade deInvestimento SA (1994-96). He was President ofthe Instituto para o Desenvolvimento e EstudosEconómicos, Financeiros e Empresariais (2003-07). From 2001 to 2002, he chaired the group of“high-level experts” at the European Commissionthat evaluated the program on Europeancompetitiveness – European Research Area. Heis the author of several articles on managementfor national and international publications. He wasappointed member of the General and SupervisoryBoard of <strong>EDP</strong> on 30th June 2006 and reappointedon 15th April 2009 and 20th February 2012.Rui Eduardo Ferreira Rodrigues Pena He was bornon 25th December 1939. He has a degree in Lawfrom the Universidade de Lisboa. He works as alawyer and his professional activity has focus onareas of administrative, trade, financial and businesslaw, with a particular emphasis on the so-calledregulated markets. He is a founding member andsenior partner at the law firm Rui Pena, Arnaut &Associados. From 1973 to 2007, he was Chairmanof the Board of Directors, Executive Director andNon-Executive Director of various Portuguese andinternational companies. He served as Minister ofNational Defense from 2001 to 2002 and was amember of the General Council of the PortugueseBar Association from 1987 to 1989. He was alecturer in Administrative Law at UniversidadeAutónoma de Lisboa (1983-1987) and a member ofthe Lisbon Municipal Assembly (1986). He is partof the arbitration and reconciliation body of theInternational Centre for Settlement of InvestmentDisputes (ICSID). He served as President of theInter-Parliamentary Union’s Portuguese groupA World Full Of Energy
