POSITIVE PARENTING IN WESTMINSTER PARENTING SUPPORT ACTION PLAN 2008-106. PARENTING PROGRAMMESStrategic Priority:<strong>Parenting</strong> Offer: Levels 2 - 4Desired outcomes:Coherent and needs-led approach to the delivery of evidence-based parenting programmes.1. Practitioners respond to parents’ needs for support with parenting through brief consultations, topic-based group sessions andstructured parenting programmes in children’s centres, extended schools and community settings.2. Health visitors and other early years practitioners provide advice and support with relationship difficulties in early parenthood.3. <strong>Parenting</strong> programmes are available to help parents of adolescents respond effectively to problematic and risky behaviourassociated with drugs, alcohol, sexual behaviour, bullying and truanting.4. Specialised interventions are available for young parents, and parents of children with disabilities or physical illness.5. Parents can access advice and guidance when and where they need it.6.
