School NewsletterTo get the most out of the school newsletter please become a subscriber. You can subscribe to the newsletter at the schoolwebsite: www.sunburyps.vic.edu.auWalk to School Day Friday, 24 th MayWalk to School Day will be held this year on Friday, 24 th May. Children are encouraged to walk to school onthis day where possible.Staff, parents and students are invited to meet at Galaxy Park at 8.20am to walk to school on the day.Further information will be sent home next week.Maintenance FundingIt has been announced that the school will receive $497,000 maintenance funding. Whilst we are privileged to be the custodians ofthe heritage buildings on the school site, maintaining the teaching and learning spaces can become an issue over time. We arethrilled that the government has seen fit to provide this funding to the school and we will seek to maximise the benefit to our schoolcommunity.Travelling to and from schoolStudents are reminded that they should travel directly between school and home both on the way to and from school each day.Delays in arriving home can cause some anxious moments for parents.Students are reminded of personal safety strategies including walking home in pairs, not talking to strangers and telling a trustedadult if they are approached or feel unsafe.Older students are asked to care for younger siblings if required.Furthermore, students are representing themselves and the school when travelling to and from school and are expected to behaveappropriately.Staff Car ParkI have noticed some parents and children using the staff car park to walk in and out of school. The staff car park is for staffmembers only. I remind parents and children that using the footpath adjacent to the car park is the safest way to enter and exit theschool. Your cooperation will avoid any accidents and protect all members of our school community.Extent OSCH Sunbury Primary SchoolOur Weekly Recap:Hi, what another fun week last week!
