Dear Colleagues:The Faculty Development and Student Research Funds Committee calls for applications for theJanet MacDonald Fund. The Fund is intended to assist students with research projects. Theproject must have a faculty sponsor. In the past, students have used the grants to offset travelcosts, to acquire research materials or to make presentations. The maximum award is $250.The deadline for applications is by noon on Friday, March 15. Applicant Instructions:Janet McDonald Fund for Student ResearchThe maximum amount that can be awarded is $250. To apply, students must complete the frontof this form, including a brief description of the research project and a statement on the resultsyou hope to obtain. The signature of your faculty sponsor for the Short Term project is required.Completed forms are to be submitted to Prof. Liz Poliner, Swannanoa 303 by noon on Friday,March 15.Those students who receive funding for research to take place during short term should fill outthe independent study form obtained in the office of the Registrar, and bring it and the proposalsigned by the faculty sponsor to the Short term Registration.All students who receive funding are required to submit receipts to the Sharon Friend in thebusiness office (located in the basement of the Cocke building) within one week of purchases.
