Insert one or two plugs into thereflex ports behind the front grill, to adjust theamount of bass to your liking after mounting thespeakers.example of set-upThe sound from speakers depends very much onthe room and on the way they are set up. You maywish to ask your dealer for advice on how to getthe best sound with SA loudspeakers in yourhome. Here is some general advice about experimentingwith the set up.ACDABconnectionThe SA saxo-series are quality speakers which canbe used for any Hi-fi stereo or surround system. The speakers does not need a particularly strongelectrical current from the amplifier, e.g. 2 x 30 Wwill often run a set of SA saxo-series speaker, withan acceptable result, provided the quality of theamplifier and connected equipment is sufficientlyhigh.! important. The amplifier must be turned off while theconnection is being madeRightspeakerRight speakerLeftspeakerLeft speakerconnection SA saxo sub 8 and saxo sub 10PRE OUTConnection to a stereopre-amplifier or aintegrated amplifier withPRE OUTSUB OUTConnection to a hometheatre amplifier / receiverwith SUB OUTset-up - subwooferAs the subwoofer manage the deepest frequenciesin the audio spectrum, the performance is mostlikely to be effected by the room acoustics. On thatbackground we recommend that you try thesubwoofer on different positions in the room. Please notice: The amount of bass is higher when thesubwoofer is placed close to a wall. A cornerposition will increase the amount of bass evenmore. Integration of the sound from all speakers in thesystem are important. If possible we recommendplacing the subwoofer between the mainspeakers and in the same distance from thelistening position.A the distance between the rear of thespeakers and the wall behind themStart with a distance of 30 cm for SA saxo 30 and20 cm for SA saxo 1 & 10. The distance should beprecise identical for both speakers. Try with musicyou know and find the distance that gives the bestperformance.Greater distance = weaker but more precise bass, better imagine and bigger sound stage.Shorter distance = more but softer bass, smallersound stage.B the distance from the side walls to thespeakersPreferably greater than the distance to the backwall.A short distance to the side walls increases theamount of bass in the same way as A.C,D distance between speakers and listenerThe ideal distance between the speakers is 2.5 – 3metres. Distances C & D should preferably be thesame. The speakers should be pointing inwards atan angle of approx. 15°.connection – double checkCheck that the cables are properly mounted. Makesure the electrical phase is correctly attached tothe speaker connections. This means that cablesattached to plus (+) or minus (-) on the amplifier/receiver must also be attached to plus (+) or minus(-) on the speakers. On SA speakers the positive connection isindicated by a red socket or a plus (+).Follow the speaker cables to make sure that theright and left channels (and the centre and rearchannels where appropriate) are attachedcorrectly.Connection to anamplifier/receiver withoutSUB OUT orPRE OUT! importantRightspeakerRightspeakerLeftspeakerLeftspeakerAmplifier/receiver and the subwoofer must beturned off while the connection is being made.3

System Audio A/SmaintenanceClean the surface of the speaker with firmly wrungdamp clothes.! importantDo not use detergent. It may discolour the finish. The fabric front is easily removed by a slightmovement away form the speaker and is bestcleaned by a vacuum cleaner with a brush-headattached.! importantDo not use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust fromthe speaker elements. Brush it away gently with asoft brush.accessoriesSA saxo 1 and saxo 10TS1The TS1 table stand can be adjusted to supportany compact loudspeaker with the right listeningangel. An absolute must for low or high placedcentre channel speakers.operationg SA saxo sub 8 and saxo sub 10On/Off switch (A) Select ”ON” or ”AUTO”.Auto is most energy efficient as the subwoofer onlypowers up when a signal is detected from the amplifier.Phase shifter (B) as a result of room acoustics anddistances between listening position, speakers andsubwoofer, there's no rule for which option is the best.Choose by listening to both options - 0 o and 180 oCrossover (C) sets the maximum frequency as to howhigh the subwoofer will go. The larger the speakers arein the system, the lower the crossover can be set. If asurround amplifier in the system have adjustablesubwoofer frequency the frequencies should be set tothe same level. Start e.g. at 80 Hz.Volume (D) regulates the sound pressure from thesubwoofer. Start e.g. with the control in the middleposition.Main circuit breaker (E). Power connection (F)D CA Bindindhøjre højttaler venstre højttalerududEFplease notice: The better your equipment, the better thespeaker will sound. Good cables improve the sound. Spend time experimenting with the position ofthe speakers. The closer the speaker is to a walls, the morebass. Move them further from walls for less bass.A corner will significantly increase the amount ofbass and can make the sound "rumbling" and"massive". Avoid the use of iron stands underneath compactloudspeakers. Magnetic interference on thecrossover will alter the sound. Never turn the volume up to a level where thesound is no longer good.
