I amsaying, simply, that we need to evaluate our traditionalprograms and meetings before the Lord and His Wordwith the objective of using our time to the greatestspiritual advantage. It is easy to get into a traditional rut,and fundamental Baptists are as guilty of this asEpiscopalians.The Sunday Schools in churches today, for example, arecommonly an attempt to accomplish two completelydifferent tasks (evangelizing the unsaved and edifyingChristians) within a tiny 45-minute framework (that isalso used for announcements, singing, offerings, andother things), and the result often is that not a lot isaccomplished toward any one goal.It might be a good idea to re-evaluate the Sunday Schoolprogram. What is the goal of it? Is the goal beingaccomplished by the present method? Are there ways toaccomplish the goal more effectively?We must remember that things like Sunday Schools aresimply methods used to obey the Bible’s commands.Sunday School itself is not found in the New Testament.
