Our churches arecaught up in programs and promotion rather thansimply bringing the members <strong>of</strong> its local body to aspiritually mature point in which they are reproducingnaturally on their own. That is what any decentparent does with physical children. They bring themto a point <strong>of</strong> maturity so that they can go have afamily <strong>of</strong> their own. With spiritual babies running theshow, no wonder the church is in the apostatecondition that it is in today. Christians need to begrown into spiritual adulthood, so that theirreproduction in this world happens naturally. That isEXACTLY what our Lord and Savior did with 12 menwhile he was here. He came to seek and save thatwhich is lost, but invested his entire ministry into only12 men! There is a discipleship ministry that is beingstarted in our church that I think you ought to checkout. The local church that I am a part <strong>of</strong> didn’toriginate this ministry. It was revealed from thepages <strong>of</strong> scripture to a church in Kansas City,Missouri. This is afundamental Baptist church.”We received the following suggestion from EvangelistChuck C<strong>of</strong>ty:“I set this up in my last church and without anycoaching I might add. I used to go to the home <strong>of</strong> aperson that our church had won to the Lord andwould present them with a Christian <strong>Life</strong> NewTestament by Thomas Nelson (not to be confusedwith the Christian Workers New Testament). In thefront are a series <strong>of</strong> outlines, and I would take aperson with me who would actually be meeting withthe new convert once each week for one hour. Theywould start going through the outlines that coverevery basic doctrine <strong>of</strong> the Bible. Most <strong>of</strong>ten it wouldtake several months to get through the outlines,which would result in ‘contact’ with that new convertevery week. I would have the contact person call his/her new convert each week to see if they needed aride and to wait near the door to greet them eachweek in church. This was very successful for mychurch and at the end <strong>of</strong> the first year we had 87%
