Baptist Church in Troy, Missouri, and three other areachurches are conducting a summer camp just for bus kidsand other unsaved youth in 2001. The theme is creationscience. Pastor Jamison of Heritage Baptist told me thatthey plan to show videos by Kent Hovind and have Biblestudies that deal with man’s origins in the book ofGenesis, with the goal of removing obstacles and doubtsthat have been created by the humanistic instruction inthe public school system, and laying a foundation of truthso the young people can be saved. Brother Jamison hasworked in bus ministries for 15 years, and he haswitnessed a change in the attitude and thinking of youngpeople and children. Many of them today don’t evenbelieve in God, whereas in decades past even unsavedyoung people in most parts of America had at least abasic belief in the Bible. Thus there is a need to go backto the basics of Bible truth, beginning with Genesis.During summer or school holidays young people can puttogether evangelistic Bible skits or dramas and seek forplaces to present them. There are many possibilities:nursing homes, parks, factories, businesses, etc.Youth SportsMany contacts can be made through youth sports.Coaching can be a means of making strong contacts withpeople. One of our friends coached a Little Leaguebaseball team in Oak Harbor, Washington, and was ableto preach the gospel to several young men. Thoseinvolved in such ministries must think of ways to buildpersonal relationships with the youth and their families. The following testimony is by Linda Cloud:117
