Card ShowersThe following is from Chuck Taylor:“One simple way that I found in evangelism is CardShowers. Out here in Nebraska, they seem to bepretty popular! They will come out in the paper andrequest a ‘card shower’ honoring someone for abirthday, anniversary, etc. As many as 4 or 5 a day inour small town I can find. These are people who maybe within a 100-mile radius of the paper. I havewritten a congratulatory letter that I use and includea gospel tract and mail it to the address. The peopleare open to correspondence because that is whatthe ‘shower’ is based on.”Personal Testimony TractsPastor Doug Hammett writes:“We have our folks write their personal testimonyand we include a picture of them on the front. Weedit the tracts and prepare them for printing and thencover 1/2 of the cost to help get it printed. Inside thefoyer we have the tracts of our members so visitorscan read the story behind their life. Our folks canalso give them out as they meet people that have abackground similar to that member. We have acassette tape and questionnaire to help a person puttogether their personal story available through thechurch” [Lehigh Valley Baptist Church, http://www.lvbaptist.org.]Gospel Tract with Songs and HymnsOne thing we have found profitable in our missionarywork in South Asia is a gospel tract that also contains thelyrics to about 20 hymns and spiritual songs. We usethese in evangelistic meetings and home Bible studies. Itdoubles as an inexpensive songbook as well as a gospeltract that people can take home.
Gospel Sermon CDsThe following is from the Slice of Laodicea web site:One thing I always carry with me are Gospel SermonCD’s to give to people who I meet throughout theday. Giving out CD’s with good gospel sermons on isa great way to reach those who are perishing. They’re relatively cheap to produce and a gospelmessage much longer than a gospel tract (I usethem too), is easier for the receiver to hear.People tend to keep hold of CD’s, even if they don’tlisten to them straight away. There have also beenmany times like for instance a workman will be doinga quick job, and I have given him a CD, andexplained what it is and they have replied “thanks, I’lllisten to it in the car on my drive home. You can give Gospel Sermon CD’s to the post lady, gas meter readers, and door-to-door sales men. AtChristmas, why not give a card with a gospel sermonCD inside, to everyone in your street , and post oneto your friends and relatives. They’re also easy to carry and great to give away tothe person on the counter at the petrol station, localshop, bank etc, and are wonderful to give tosomeone after you have had a witnessingconversation in the street.101
