Drawing fire for her political allegiances – labelledprovocation by the Reagan government – Davis soon became the victim of a campaign toban her from teaching in the United States. As a result, she found herself catapulted into theinternational limelight for her revolutionary beliefs. Following a series of death threats, shebought her first firearm – the first step towards a series of events that involved kidnappings andshootouts, and saw her ending up on the FBI’s ‘Ten Most Wanted’ list.
