I have found short multiples of five-minute segments during two-hourpractices to be the best way to break down teaching time. There are very fewthings in football that require more than 20 minutes at a time to focus on; mynormal maximum for teaching any one concept or technique is 15 minutes. Seediagrams on pages 44 and 60 for layout of practice workstations on the one-halffootball field which is the minimum requirement for installing the 2LD. Drills(keyed to the practice schedules on this and succeeding pages) are describedbelow. Ten new drills are covered at the first practice, so your schedule may slipslightly at that one practice -- but they are simple, powerful drills for teaching2LD fundamentals, so take the time to teach them right the first time.45
