This might mostly have been due to the generalgrowth <strong>of</strong> <strong>de</strong>mand for paper products in the early 1960s. While the growth <strong>of</strong>exports to France and Italy was the most impressive, exports to France did notcatch up with the level <strong>of</strong> exports to the Netherlands, which remained Germany’smost important export market for paper and paper products within the EEC.
