The uptakeof MAS is therefore not limited by technical resources but mostly by the priorities andfinancial constraints of the few remaining poultry breeding companies. With the cost ofgenotyping decreasing rapidly, an increase in the use of direct trait- single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)-associations in MAS can be predicted.
