To lead on raising the profile of the provision both within the College andexternally such that learners are recruited and placed appropriately.6. To lead on curriculum development and delivery to ensure that programmesand activities are of a high quality and meet the needs and interests of learnersand external partners.JOB ACTIVITIESOperational planning and resource management1. To lead, develop and line-manage a curriculum team.2. To work with the Head of School to set and monitor realistic targets for studentretention and achievement in the area.3. To hold regular team meetings to monitor progress against targets and to ensurea positive learner experience.4. 5. To work with <strong>Curriculum</strong> <strong>Manager</strong>s across College to align timetables so thatlearners on Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy courses can access the full range ofpersonal development and enrichment activities.6. To work with the Head of School to ensure finances are managed in accordancewith College policy and procedures.7. To assist the Head of School in ensuring that all education and training activitiesare risk assessed, that appropriate health and safety legislation is observed andthat staff and students have been given the information and training appropriateto the risk level of the activity.8. To assist the Head of School with the recruitment, deployment and developmentof teaching staff within the area.9. To ensure the highest quality of learning and teaching through effective LearningObservation, Performance Review and Appraisal of all staff within the curriculumarea.10. To be responsible for performance management and its evaluation, including thesetting and monitoring of work plans and Quality Improvement Plans.<strong>Curriculum</strong> development and delivery1. To lead curriculum development for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy within theCollege and to respond to curriculum development and initiatives at national,regional and local levels.2. To take the lead in providing a wide range of learning environments suited to thefacilitation of differentiated learning, including the utilisation of real workingenvironments where appropriate.3. To ensure that Functional Skills or equivalent English and maths qualifications aredelivered to a high standard.4. To undertake teaching duties.5. To act as an Internal Verifier as appropriate.Quality processes1. To support the Head of School in the production of timely and evaluative Self-Assessment Report’s and associated Quality Improvement Plan’s2.
