AFEWES Threat SimulationsAFEWES develops and operateshigh-fidelity Hardware-in-the-Loop(HITL) RF and IR simulations ofSurface-to-Air (SAM) and Air-to-Air(AAM) missiles.A vigorous, systematic Verification &Validation (V&V) process is ongoingto quantify the fidelity and accuracyof all AFEWES RF and IR threatsimulations. This process isoverseen by an IPTrepresenting Intelligence Centers,Government Laboratories,Developmental and Operational TestAgencies, and Threat Experts fromacross DoD.The intent of this V&V process is toensure that AFEWES simulationsare credible and appropriate fordetermining EW systemeffectiveness.High-fidelity RF simulations ofessentially all semi-active RF SAMswhich pose a threat to US and alliedaircraft:• Classic Semi-Active Guidance• Seeker-Aided Ground Guidance(SAGG)High-fidelity IR simulations of most IRthreats faced by US and allied aircraft:• Red and Gray MANPADS• IR Air-to-Air Missiles• Vehicle-Mounted IR SAMs
