RECOMMENDED VARIETIESVariety selection is important both for the horticultural characteristics specified by the market and the pest resistance profile that will be the foundation of apest management program. If disease pressures are known, Table 6.1.2 can help to determine which varieties will be more successful in reducing diseaseproblems. Consider the market when choosing varieties, selecting those with some level of disease resistance if possible.A certified <strong>org</strong>anic farmer is required to plant certified <strong>org</strong>anic seed.
