At least two of thethree members of the committee should be faculty fromthe Department of Mass Media Arts, Journalism andCommunication Studies. Committee members must havegraduate faculty status.ElectivesElectives may be taken from any curriculum in thegraduate catalog, if approved by the student’s committee,with a limit of three credits at the 400-level. Please notethat 400-level courses taken for undergraduate creditcannot be repeated for graduate credit.PlacementPlacement of past graduates has been excellent in business,industry, public relations, broadcasting, corporatecommunication, education, training and development,and doctoral and specialist programs.AdvisementBased on career goals of the student, an advisor isselected by the student from the graduate faculty of thedepartment.Advisement is at the convenience of the studentand may occur at any time. Frequently the advisor willrecommend the student talk with another member of thefaculty who may be more closely associated with a specificproblem or interest of the student.In all cases, the responsibility of meeting the statedrequirements of the master’s degree lies with the student.Mass Media Artsand Journalism
